Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

Life is boring without companions. Life is boring without friends. Life is boring without anyone in our lives. And my life? It’s awesome!
Walking had been my best hobby next to sleeping (hehes). I love it when I stroll around and enjoy the beautiful creation the Lord had made.
Walking is always my first mode of transportation (?) option. Well, except if I have not enough time or if my destination is too far.
Have you ever tried “alay-lakad”? It’s a sacrificial walk that I had experienced. It’s an activity conducted for the youth of our church when we went to Dumabato Falls. Usually, tourists who visit this falls need to hire a tricycle from the public market of Maddela but because we are having an alay-lakad, we didn’t hire one. Instead, we use our ” kawasaka” (Ilocaknows) or our feet in travelling.
It’s a long walk indeed. It should have been hard thinking that it’s too far but I never felt tired. Why? Because I have my companions. I have my fellow youth to walk with. I have them to support me when my feet aches. I have them to make the journey fun. I never felt tired, because of their presence.
Life is a journey. It’s a long long long long journey. And in this long journey, we don’t know what’s waiting along the way. Obstacles are everywhere. Hindrances are everywhere. It’s hard. It’s difficult. But these are nothing if we have companions to help us along the way.
In our journey, a huge rock might fall in the middle of the road which would hinder us to continue. We can’t move the huge rock without anyone helping us. Yes, it’ll show how strong we are if we moved it all by ourselves. But no. We can’t. We’ll just end up being tired and exhausted trying to move the rock which will push us to give up thinking that you can’t move the rock therefore you can’t finish the journey.
Buy hey! Wake up! You have someone. You have friends. You have families. There are strangers willing to help. Just open your eyes. God is sending lots of people to help us carry our burden! It’s good news, right? Therefore let’s us open our eyes and mind and heart with the fact that no man is indeed an island. We are human. We are mortals. We need help. Trust me, it’ll be easier.
With hundreds of paper to cut, it’ll take a lot of time. But with someone helping you, it’ll be finished in just few minutes or hours.
With lots of problems to solve, it’ll be easier to have someone helping —to support, encourage, motivate and suggest possible solutions.
God sends those people in our lives to help us. Do not take “help” as a disability. Treat that “help” as a “grace” coming from Him. Accept and be thankful with that grace. And while accepting and being thankful, let’s also be a “grace” to someone and let them feel how God loves them.
God bless everyone!
