Why #1

“Why can’t she…”

It was three weeks ago when we started doing different requirements in our school —I’m a Grade-12 ABM student by the way. And those requirements need leadership for almost all of them are group works —there’s a whole class performances. And with this, our class mayor is the one who’ll initiate for she’s the leader.

Leader. A good leader is a good follower. Yes, she is a follower of the set of rules.

Leader. A good leader doesn’t expect service. She’s the one who’ll serve. Yes, she serves us wholeheartedly regardless of the fact that she’s younger than some of us.

Leader. A good leader is a good listener. Yes, she’s a good listener…

Before.

Yep! She’d been our mayor ever since Grade-11 and her leadership was so awesome that we gave her a second term. And we didn’t had any regret with what we’ve done…

Before.

But as time passes by, I observed that she had overpowered her position. She started to be deaf. She became deaf of our opinions and suggestions. She became deaf in listening our concerns. She’s now deaf.

Why?

Why do people change?

Why can’t they distinguish if they’re changing not for better but for worse?

Why can’t she listen?

Why can’t she be a good leader again?

Maybe, because she’s not contented that she wants to improve. But no, she didn’t and I’m afraid that she’ll not only lose herself, but also the passion of leading and loving us.

Why did I wrote this blog?

It’s because I want to say to all leaders out there that you are called for a purpose. They chose you to be their leader —to be their role model and to be their listener. And if time comes that you’ll feel weak, ask Him for strength. If time comes that you’ll think something is off and something needs to be improved, ask Him and he’ll give you wisdom to know between these two things which confuses almost everyone —changing for the better and changing for worse.

We are all leaders in our own life. Be a good leader.
